SOUTH BEND - Dierks Bentley doesn't need a warm act. He has enough energy on his own. So when he took the stage at the Morris Performing Arts Center, Thursday night following performances by up-and-comer Luke Bryan and American Idol star, Bucky Covington, the energy in the theater was electric.
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra became such a dynamo of precision and electric playing under Sir Georg Solti and Daniel Barenboim that their performance under the regal hand of Pierre Boulez, almost by definition, had to be stunning playing. No surprises there.
